Short Bio
My name is Matt Ryan,
I was born on May 10th 1979, I am a single father with one son. I live in Norwalk, where I grew up. I graduated from Norwalk High School in 1997. I then attended Cerritos College where I got an AA degree in General Studies. I took a lot of Photo Classes at Cerritos but with digital technology on the rise in the early 2000s, I decided to become a teacher. I transferred to CSULB and graduated with a BA in History. I got hired by Norwalk La Mirada in 2008, I was a substitute teacher and got to Sub for my former 5th grade teacher. It was a wonderful experience working in Norwalk. In 2010 I relocated to Brazil. I worked teaching English for 7 years while living in Brazil. I also learned how to speak Portuguese. In 2017 I returned to Los Angeles and have been traveling back and forth to Brazil ever since. This is my 4th year working at Watts Learning Center Charter Middle School, I have been an In House Sub for WLCCMS for most of my time here. I have been a long term teacher for English Language Development ELD/ Math/ Science and PE, besides these classes I have supported or taught virtually every class here at WLCCMS. When I am not working I enjoy Skateboarding, Surfing and my favorit Snowboarding.
